TAKE THE QUIZ
QUIZ: WHAT'S YOUR TEACHER PERSONALITY?

THE DYNAMIC TEACHER

You’re full of energy, engaging, and seriously enthusiastic! When you first heard that classic advice to "not smile during the first term," you probably thought, hah, not a chance!

You’re the type who’s silly, chatty, and always brings a spark into the classroom. Your students know that when they walk into your room, it’s going to be a lively ride. Sometimes you might banter a little too hard, but your light-heartedness is one of your secret weapons for de-escalating tricky situations.

You’ve got a voice that grabs attention, and you’re the teacher who makes students feel truly seen and heard. Your students buy in because you know how to get them excited about learning. The teacher down the hall might even wish they could bottle up your energy!

YOUR FAMOUS TEACHER PAIRING:

John Keating

Dead Poets Society

You’ve got some John Keating vibes going on from Dead Poets Society—always bringing excitement and fresh ideas to your classroom. Your dynamic teaching style keeps your students on their toes, constantly pushing them to think differently and creatively. Your energy is infectious, and you’ve made learning fun, but sometimes you find it tricky to shift gears and bring the energy down when needed. Balance can be hard when you’re naturally so lively!

YOUR CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT SUPERPOWERS

  • You have an incredible knack for inspiring creativity and curiosity. You can turn even the most routine tasks into something students want to dive into.
  • Your relationships with students are golden. You know them, and because of that, they want to engage with what you’re teaching. You’re the teacher they’ll remember long after they leave school.
  • Quick thinking is your jam. If something in the lesson isn’t working, you’ve got the flexibility and confidence to switch it up on the spot and turn things around (and make out like it was always part of the plan!)

THE STRUGGLES YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE

  • Your energy, while a huge strength, can also sometimes be too much for the room. You might unintentionally crank up the level of those low-level behaviors by raising the energy in the space.
  • Balancing all the teacher chat with giving students space for quiet focus can be tough.
  • Relying on your voice to manage the room is understandable, but it can leave you drained at the end of the day—especially if you feel like you’ve spent the whole day raising your volume to match the class

YOUR TOP TIP

Remember, anything we want from our students, we need to model first. So next time you’re in the classroom, try this challenge:

Consciously bring your energy and your volume down. Approach things a little slower, drop your shoulders, be still, and take deep breaths. This is what we call embodying a credible teaching persona—but with your signature dynamic twist!

YOUR TOP TIP

Holding boundaries is just another way of showing you care, even though it might not always feel like it. You don’t even need to say anything! You can use your non-verbal communication as a way to craft your teaching person to be one that is more credible when needed, without losing your beautiful nature in the process. Holding yourself with credibility looks like practicing stillness, standing up tall and straight, pausing, and using your proximity and gaze to de-escalate challenging behaviours.

AN IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR YOU AS A DYNAMIC TEACHER

You don’t have to lose your amazing extroverted nature—it’s a gift! It’s all about knowing when to channel that energy and when to intentionally shift gears to maintain the balance between your approachable and energetic nature, and the credibility and stillness that is needed for more focused parts of a lesson.

MORE INFO & ENROL

HI, TEACHER FRIEND! I'M CLAIRE.

Yes, I am an experienced Secondary English teacher, leader, mentor, author, and all the things in classroom management.

But real life me is also a toddler Mumma, a true-crime buff, an ocean lover, a potato fiend, and a wife.

I am more than a teacher, and so are youThat's why I created this quiz. You deserve SO more than cookie cutter strategies that don't work for you, that don't respect the wonderful individual you are, that don't mesh with your unique set of strengths.

So yes, if you work with me in any capacity you will get the training and mentorship that I pour my whole heart into, and pride myself on being the flipping best out there. But it is so much more than that. It must be.

It starts by you being supported, validated and understood as the incredible, passionate, whole human being that you are.

Blimey, this work is tough. But together, we are tougher. I am so happy that you're here.
