Hi, I'm Claire 👋
A classroom management nerd, secondary teacher, and best-selling author of It's Never Just About the Behaviour. I'm also the creator of The Behaviour Club, where I support teachers to lead their classrooms with calm, clarity, and connection.
I spent years getting the first week wrong without even realising it. I'd either go in too soft (all icebreakers, no structure) and spend the rest of the term trying to claw back control. Or I'd go in too firm, and watch the warmth I actually wanted with my students disappear before I'd even learned their names properly.
It took me a long time to realise those two things weren't supposed to be in competition.
